Finally got all the parts put together and just have to do some minor adjusting to minimize wobble and vibration along with relocating the license plate and hook up some lighting for it. Super excited to get this done and to see the finished product on my own vehicle. If anybody has any questions, feel free to ask:hello:

They aren't so much mods as they are general maintenance but these are easy, cheap jobs that are fun to knock out on weekends. Of all the things I've done to my truck, the biggest improvements came from:

-Changing the spark plugs
-Changing all differential/transfer case fluids
-Greasing the driveline (do it regularly too)
-Power steering flush
-Cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body

I've also been very pleased with the AFE Pro Dry S filter...can't get any easier than swapping an air filter. Oh and check your cabin air filter too.

When you say grease the drive line do you mean the I joints in the drive shaft?

Did the h9 bulb swap this weekend. Followed the instruction found HERE.

Very easy mod, and got a decent amount of extra light. Not the best way to show the extra light, bit it gives you the right idea. Both photos taken with same f-stop/shutter speed/ISO/white balance.

Amber Rock lights....

I have a set of rock lights waiting to be added to mine. You care to take a few pictures of where you mounted them in the wheel wells? I have yet to find a good place to securely mount them without taking out my inner fender.

Those stuck bastards

Cut out my frozen lower control arm bolts and the arms themselves. New LCA's and ball joints in. I put moog cam adjuster bolts with the greasable zirk in hopes I can keep them from freezing up in the sleeve in the future.

What a job. Sawzall, grinder and lots of whacks form the 3# hammer.

I ended up using a concrete saw and cut that ****er up lol

I've been lurking these forums for nearly a year and had been planning on receiving a 2nd Gen (family deal, long story), but ended up buying this 4G this week so I've been catching up on all things 4th Gen. Heck of a deal, too, especially in the PNW where T4Rs run a premium.

Unlike [MENTION=167946]TripleTS_T4R[/MENTION] the first thing I did was fire up a cigar

Next up is pulling the running boards... after that... who knows..

Swapped to the newer headlights and grille on my 2003.

Was much easier to do than anticipated.

I've been wanting to swap to the 2006+ front end for a while but i was worried it would be too difficult. How did you wire in the new headlights? and did you need to modify the hood to mount the new grille?

Hey everybody, I've got the 03 limited, with the 4.7 V8. Im wondering how much of an impact the HCF delete will have on my truck (pros vs. cons) considering my baby has over 450k.

Probably not a noticeable amount, but doesn't hurt to do it anyway. Look at the thread for that particular mod, seems like it's mixed results for most people. I noticed no MPG gain but it did feel a bit lighter on the pedal.

- The hood is the same and will fit regardless of the 06+ swap or not
- As long as you have the headlights, the 06+ grill will also fit the hood BUT the grill will need to be modified to be compatible with the old bumper, as it will not clear. Most people dremel or cut it to spec.

Spare tire mount on rear hatch

Hey guys, so im looking to mount my spare on the rear of my 03, but if possible i want to avoid mounting it to the bumper. Alternatively, id like to mount it directly to the rear hatch. I saw this pic on google and was wondering if anyome had some suggestions.

I made something like this. If you or someone you know has access to some power tools like a metal saw and drill you can make it. I think that model was taken off the market but you can make your own. Hit me up if you’re interested! It totaled about $200

Edit: it’s not mounted to the hatch, it’s mounted into the hitch receiver

Here it is on mine and it has a hitch ball too. It’ll decrease departure angle but if you don’t do anything crazy you are fine
