Wanted to share some super simple mods that I have had on my 4runner for some time now:

1) Covercraft Custom Fit Sunscreen ($55.00 amazon) Have had it on my 4runner for about 7 years now. Easy to fold and custom fit, has been super useful going through three digit weather for months each year.

2) Drop Stop - Car Seat Gap Filler: ($19.99 amazon) Have had them for about 4 years after seeing these on SharkTank. They are awesome as I hated my cell phone or anything else sliding out of my pocket and falling through.

3) Smokers Kit: ($25ish ebay) Love having a second car charger outlet and the change storage area can be pulled out easily to empty it.

4) Lexus IS300 Shit Knob: ($30ish) Serves no purpose besides being nice to look at and feels nice to shift with. Have had it on my ISF and then now on 4runner.

Made a door for my skid plate so i never have to take the darn thing off to get to my oil filter on my v8. Good riddens , save myself 10 minutes and the trouble.

Do you have pics or details on what/how you did this?

You get better articulation better wheel travel up and down while wheeling which means better traction

Just Plasti-dip them for now. I'm in the process of doing that to mine. Getting a black coat of Plasti-dip, then doing a clear coat over top for some gloss and extra protection.

LOL.....there is no specific top 10 list of mods. If you ask 10 people you will get 10 different lists.

For me it would all depend on your budget.

Ditching the hydrocarbon filter had no effect on MPG. Definitely a good mod and pretty quick overall to complete.

i want to remove my running boards but the nuts seem rusted beyond being able to get taken out. from first glance they dont look bad but they wont budge with a socket wrench or impact drill. i tried pb blaster and still nothing. i was thinking about drilling through the middle of them with a drill bit any ideas?

Definitely just go for more power before you go doing destructive things. Mine wouldn't budge with an impact driver, but that's a lot different than an impact wrench. I didn't have one at the time so I had to use a friends. Even a cheap harbor freight air impact took them off in seconds. One snapped, but that's fine since I was only trying to get them off, and only 1 out of 8 isn't bad.

i tried with a battery powered impact wrench and 3 of them came out and the rest wouldnt budge not sure why :/

Yeah, that's an impact driver, not an impact wrench. Not quite the same thing. I mean, functionally they are similar, but 1600 lb-in is not very much for breaking loose rusted nuts. Can't say how much more you'd need, but a typical full size impact wrench is in the 400-1000 lb-ft range. And some of the smaller ones are still double the torque of your impact driver. If you already have an air compressor, and air tool would be pretty cheap. If not, unless you plan to do other work on your 4runner yourself, it's probably not worth investing in a real impact wrench just for these bolts, because even the cheap ones aren't "cheap", so your best bet would just be finding someone who has one.

I went through basically exactly this with my running boards. Couldn't get the bolts to budge with my 18 volt impact driver, and had to use my friend's air impact to get the bolts off. And after that I bought an impact wrench as soon as there was a sale I liked.
