Well I've got a really big and sweet update coming soon....

But in the meantime the truck decided it had different plans.

On the way to work this morning the right rear wheel bearing decided to come apart and make a hell of a lot of noise... And throw gear oil all over the place. Luckily I was almost in to work and nothing failed catastrophically.... and the axle housing is going to be ok.

Scared me quite a bit haha.

no kidding. I pulled over... thought about getting a tow truck for the last few miles but then just went for it. All is well. Definitely scary.

I put new bearings, retainers, and seals in it on my lunch break and now all is well in the world again.

Haha this has made me consider that more, but not right now. The hairless cat is finally upholding its end of the bargain... and Marlin Crawler finally sent me the last piece of my puzzle.

Woah. I can't believe I hadn't seen your build thread before today! I just looked it up and am so jealous of it. Duals, Long Travel, and a sweet Ford too? Dang, thanks for checking in.

Radesigns made me a triple stick/relocated twin for our stock chain box with the ol' gear crawl box in front. I'm really excited to feel like a crane operator real soon with all those levers haha and being able to crawl without a whole lot of clutch and parking brake work.

I'd love to have LT... next major mod maybe.... the wife wants a greenhouse (she calls it a she shed) in the backyard. I've already started the trade negotiations there... and I got a 20k+per year raise just yesterday from leveraging with another job offer... so things could get real gnarly

Thanks! I was entertaining a job offer at Lexus who offered to match my current pay to start and credit me $400 per month toward a new Lexus model lease of my choice lol.

I've been at the independent I'm at now for 9 years and just started getting bored I guess but genuinely like most things about it . Anywhoo I got a big pay increase and picked up some better stalls (location in shop) due to a coworker retiring. My current benefits such as health insurance, 401k, and so on are also significantly better than what is offered at the dealer now which I was surprised by. It's nice to keep all that.

I'm pretty stoked on how life is going right now haha.
 
Now that you're flush with cash, does you're hairless get a friend? They could live in the greenhouse.

First off Congratulations!

Thanks for the kind words. You will not regret LT. I picked up my kit used for the same price as the arms themselves. It was the only way it was going to happen. I have ton of small things to do to my runner. Next up is skids and my rear shocks. I'm use to having dual cases, so wheeling without them made me feel like I was beating on the runner too much. I use the crawl box all the time right now. Lol

I did take quite a few pictures while tearing down the old case and building the crawl box. I'll post up a bit more about it when I'm all done and crawlin.

Updates? I highly doubt those transfer case parts are still setting on the bench :)

Haha dude unfortunately they are! Although my stock transfer case is out and mated to it now and all is ready to go back in.

I've even got my resized, balanced, and HD walled driveshafts sitting on that bench now.

We had a little mix up with the triple stick shifter base. I had ordered a Tacoma t-case shifter base for the stock case because its the only example I had seen done in a 3rd gen 4runner with triple sticks and noted it was for my 2000 4runner and thought we would be good.

Anyway turned out the bases were slightly different between the two.

I've got to say though Rory at Radesigns has been absolutely fantastic to deal with. I sent him a picture of my stock shifter base vs the one he had made for others and he had me send my original base to him to make me one that will fit my stock t-case.

I bought these shifters way back in December and they've just been sitting in my basement..... and he got back to me immediately and has been handling making my triple sticks for this thing like it was yesterday.... FOR FREE even after I offered to pay whatever he needed to help me out because I really want it set up this way.

Best customer service I have ever experienced.

Anyway he just shipped the new shifter base and we should be rolling they day I get it in next week!

With the 4runner down the last week I have been out hiking a lot and taking some photos in the meantime.



This one came out pretty rad. Soooo stoked to hopefully get some better wheeling shots this summer!
