eBay uniball control arms?

Hi, you and a few other members do talk about using Tri Flow, however i been looking at some of the Triflow products, and the one which is a dry lubricant (Tri-Flow Dry Lube) however they (the manufacturer) says "providing adequate wet weather performance", so i am wondering how often you need to lubricate when there is water on your path....?

Im not sure...all the main manufactures of UCA's want you to use dry lubricant. Possibly water is less detrimental then sand and dirt.

I usually lube mine up every couple of weeks and have never had a squeak come out of them. The water isnt as much an issue, as the uniballs are stainless steel

Yeah should be fine. As long as you keep them clean too, you should have no problems

Ok she's aligned. These are the numbers.

Ajonesnv, did yours come with destructions? Not mine, I wish you luck. I got mine yesterday and I kinda want to paint them before I jb weld em on. lol........

Tell me about your experience with the slug adapters. Mine went in far too easy, they are supposedly sending me out new ones that should be the propped PITA to put in.

Other than this they are a perfect value option, well, the zirk fittings needed replaced (but that is not surprising)...steel is ¼" thick, welds are clean, powder coating is pretty thick, bushings are good quality, and the uniball is as expected.

In all reality, there are only so many ways UCA's can be built so I'm happy.

What's a slug adapter? This is my first set of arm's I've ever swapped, bought or even cared to know about. I am completely new to lifting or even owning ifs 4x4s. Last year I decided it's time to rid myself of the hassle of owning two vehicles and get one that does everything. I do plan to get the big boy stuff piece by piece slowly over time. These arms will save me a grip for the time being. Right now all I have is the daystar 2.5, my new (Total Knockoff) uca's and some 265/70s. My goal when I started was to figure out what I wanted in the outcome, without spending it all on something I wasn't sure of. When side by side these arms are obviously much stronger than my stock ones and are still cheaper than any ball joint set up thats advertized and they solved my alignment issues. I didn't think I would need new uca's after a 2.5 spacer lift but i was wrong. These saved my butt in a pinch. I plan to get well over my 250 out of em.

What are your plans or modifications for your set? Are you going to swap out the balls that came with it or run em?

I am curious to know if the alignment is improved by installing these and if so by how much?

The only thing I really noticed after I lifted mine was sensitive steering. That was after I had it aligned with stock uca's + 2.5 /1.5 spacer lift. These ebay uca's improve your straight line driving like on the freeway thats about it. Granted you have it alighned after you install them.

Well, I learned last night the 4th Gens don't need slug adapters. On the 3rd Gen the ball joint presses into the knuckle, which then needs an adapter to reduce the hole to the ¾" bolt once the stock ball is out. This is called the slug adapter. Mine were not "pressed" tight, so the eBay people are sending me new slug adapters...(hell they may actually be sending a whole new set).

Im going to run the balls after much consideration over pricing on resell balls, I would not surprised if these are the same balls that the others use. I will be buying Camburgs slug adapters if the new ones are not up to where i think they should be. This of course wouldn't affect yours at all.

quick update my brother ran these at Tellico again and has had no issues. This is now after also DD them for about 2 months.

So guys, I wanna know. Is there a difference between upper control arms when it comes to swapping lower control arms? Long travel is pretty sweet but I want to have mid travel. It seems like total chaos only sells long tr & mid tr arms in kits with uppers and lowers together, is this correct? Eventually I'll have the icon extended travel to rid myself of 2.5 spacers, I already have these uca's. My ultimate question is after the icons and these uca's can I just get mid travel lower arms or will i have to buy the whole kit?

You can get just the lowers and theyll work fine with the uppers you have now. The lowers arent needed to be considered midtravel. I think most consider extended travel coilovers and uniball uppers midtravel.

I will likely be ordering these as soon as I have money available.

I bought a 2007 SE 4WD that has a budget leveling kit on the front and no one is able to get it aligned right. My steering is horrible and I am really tired of having it wander and follow every grove in the road. My plan is to get these first and then eventually replace XREAS with 5100s and FJ coils. If I didnt have 265/70s installed I would probably just pull the leveling kit off and get it back to factory alignment.

Interesting find but can't say I'd take the chance on them... how's the saying go? "If it's too good to be true, it probably is...

Thats what I've always thought. I was referring to the Total Chaos 2" long travel that they call their mid travel. I really like the set up but it looks like you still have to install the extended axles just like the 3" L.T.
