Looks better in those pics. I think the new style will eventually grow on me, but I hate that it has to grow on me in the first place. I'd rather just like it right from day one!
The Trail with all the flat black trim will probably look really good in the new Magnetic Grey. Add some decent wheels with a better offset and some meaty tires, and maybe a small spacer lift up front and I think it would look like a different vehicle. Okay, I'm gonna hold off bashing it any further until I see one set up like that!

. They look like they belong on a Buick. Wished they were at least semi-aggressive just so you don't need to immediately run out and drop $1k on new tires if you want to do serious off-road stuff.
I am slightly ignorant to Toyotas and am learning more daily, but is this a diff lock or have we determined yet if this thing has a rear locker? I've never actually physically seen one.

The picture of the rear axle seems like it has extra hardware for the rear locker.

With the looks of the back seats at different angles it looks like they have a recline feature. Also, looking at the rear pics, it looks like there are two places where the seat back latches. If this is true, that would be pretty sweet for the kids.

I agree about the tires. After I bought my 4Runner 2 months later I bought some real tires - GY Silent Armors. Given that the Trail is supposed to be a freaking off-road vehicle one might think they would charge $100 more for a set of real tires. Either some Revos, AT KOs, or something similar that you know are going to last a while and allow you to go freaking off roading.
I love the wheels and think that they look exceptional and the black flares give a nice color complement - better than the thick cladding on the earlier 4th generations.
Reclining rear seats would be awesome. The Highlander had them and we loved them. The seats were well cushioned and the reclining feature allowed for more rear passenger comfort which was great.
I also noticed that it seems that the 4wd selector is back to a lever. I love my '07 but I have never liked an electric drivetrain selector. I tolerated it in my truck mostly because it was a Toyota and I knew that I would not be able to kill my beast.
Can't wait to drive one in a couple of months. My wife will be yelling at me to shut up like she was when I wanted my 4th Gen.

I was told the 2nd row seat recline up to 16 deg.

If you all have time check out a post in this folder that says videos of 4runner. Toyota has posted a lot of information on youtube under the username TOYOTAUSA. I believe it has also been confirmed that the Trail Edition comes with a standard Electronic Rear Locker in it's 4wd system.

That definitely looks like a picture of the rear locker actuator.
Plus on the overhead controls, there is a locker button as seen in this picture:
