Alright fellas, I need some education.

What is the difference in going with the toytec/eibac coils with the adjustable 5100s vs the Toytec coil over setup?

Mostly I'm looking for the differences in function of both systems.

Sorry for the potentially dumb question. I'm just trying to decide which system to go with.

Adjustability.

The 5100/Eibach setup isn't adjustable at all. The 5100's get set at the bottom clip and the Eibachs give you a 3 inch lift. Done. The pro to this is that its simple and cheap.

With the coilovers, you have the ability to adjust the height by turning the adjusting nut with a spanner wrench. You can go from 0-3 inchs with that setup. Its also nice if you add weight in the future like a bumper and lose a little height. You can adjust them up a little and regain your lost lift height.

Buuutttttt....its like twice the money. I guess it depends on whether you would be happy knowing that you are going to get 3 inches from the 5100/Eibach setup and can't do much to change it.

So if I have my head straight. If I went with the lift spring and 5100s and later decided that I wanted coil overs I could drop some more cash and buy this kit:
**SALE** Front adjustable coil over kit for Bilstein 5100's

and have coilovers.

I assume that kit is using a different spring.

Yep you got it. And unfortunately the way Toyota designed the coils, you can't keep the same coils and add the adjustable collar.

The Toytec Ultimte (BOSS) is a great place to start. I got mine in Sep 2010 and it got me all kinds of places while standing up to the abuse. Made install easier too since the coilovers come complete with no need for a spring compressor.

The coilovers have held up well and I just recently replaced the bushings.

For the rear i opted for the Procomp 9000s and OME 891s. They were.....good enough. But with always carrying extra 200lbs+ of cargo the springs sagged requiring the 1.5" spacers. Last year I replaced the rear setup with Bilstien 5100 shocks and Superfex coils from Toytec. Much happier. Only other thing I'm gonna do to the rear is the shock relocation to allow for more tire drop.
