As you all know, word is we will have a rough El Nion, worse than in the 90's.

What are your thoughts and what are you doing to prep for the storm?

Unlike years past its not just hype anymore, this will be the real deal. What i am most interested in is the "blob" of warm water in the north east pacific. Forecasters dont know exactly what affect it will have on the storms. One theory is that it will create an atmospheric river condition. Meaning way way too mich water for us to handle.
To prepare im just stocking up on water, canned foods, rice, beans, propane for my grill, candles etc. Nothing to crazy or out of the ordinary

Why would you do something stupid like that?
Plus, your gonna miss all the action around here.

But yet again it's always El Nino in Michigan during winter/blizards
sounds :censored: amazing
Lol I am getting out of the service and my old school offered me a full ride plus housing and a meal plan without using my gi bill.

I will be back out one day. Gotta get the education finished.

Hope it happens, Cal needs the water. We got a head start, we moved to Salem, Oregon last month. Had a few clear days, then a week of rain and we had "cloud failure" today and saw blue sky and sunshine.

I remember the El Nino 97 well. I just started driving, and I slid through many a red light in my 1979 Pickup. It rained like crazy all the time, but other than that, it wasn't much. I think this year will be far different. More people have built in the hills and there have been some crazy fires over the last 10 years. Maybe I should get a snorkel for the 4runner just in case. heh.

I'm looking forward to the rain, although I'm fully expecting everywhere to be flooded at first. Especially suburbia since we haven't had the "water" pressure to push shit through the storm drains and everything is bound to be clogged. It's going to be interesting.

Was thinking about buying a snorkel but all you bastids snatched them all up on Amazon. I swear, last week when I check Amazon Prime it was available for about $100 free 2 day shipping. Now it shows, currently unavailable!

Personally, I'm not too concern. I imagine will have some slow business days due to heavy rain. My HB office will have the parking area flooded for sure. Hopefully it won't get into the office. I don't have a house on the hill or beach front properties, so i'm cool.

I looked at some maps that designated flood prone areas and pre-routed directions around them for places I normally go to, ie work or family members houses. Oh yeah...and rainX, lots of rainX

My rig has been doing double duty on the runs into the forest for firewood. This is the better part of a nice oak cut into ~6' sections - almost got the whole tree in there. My Runner definitely earns its keep as a workhorse around here.
