I think they mean there is no "mechanical handle" to lift up on. The rubber pad that your fingers press on when you open the tail gate is the "electronic" part.What is it because as far as I know there isn't any locking system?
Well, my 2006 SE has a locking rear hatch. If you close the rear hatch lightly it will "soft close" itself with an electronic motor. I think that might be what this is talking about.
