The flip key was also from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011Y3MVEY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_0lThxb9663HEJ it is just a shell though. You swap the remote inners and transponder chip into the shell, get the blade cut and you're set.

At first I bought the wrong keys off of Amazon, when purchasing the key blanks make sure they are G-chip or else the 5th gen won't be able to communicate with the transponder. I had to order extra G-chip transponders off of eBay because of my mistake but it's helpful to know this is possible in case you need extra chips for any reason.

If you search "Toyota G Key" on Amazon, you'll come up with all your options including the OEM Toyota key without remote

Where did you download the software? I have tried about 15 different links and they all give me crap.
 
Hi Skeet, thanks for posting up the Techstream software for download. In an earlier post you said you had some trouble getting it to work/connect. Any tips for getting it to work consistently? For example, does the cable need to be connected to the port and the car running for the software to initiate communications to the vehicle? Did you have to download any additional DLLs/drivers on Win 7? Thanks in advance.

Check this link out for the software crack, you'll need to register in order to download the file. All I installed was the software and activated it and worked for me. I plug the ODB and laptop and fire up Techstream and the software recognizes it immediately. I didn't have to install any additional drivers. Hopefully you can get it to work, if not I don't mind meeting up with my setup

Since last update:

  • I got a smoking deal on a set of KO2 in 285 (price matched a Craigslist listing with America's Tire)
  • Finally got my Bajarack ladder
  • 1.25" wheel spacers
  • Body mount chop
  • Rigid Dually fogs (amber/spot)
  • Finally wired my light bar with humble tips from [MENTION=44305]weeeee[/MENTION]
  • Did a night camp at Pismo/Oceano Dunes and got a crap load of sand in the runner.

I saw your TRD Pro and the green 4Runner out in the Dunes. Just came back today from our trip. Was quite surprised how well the 5th Gen handled the dunes.

Nice! I saw a white 5th gen climbing the ridge over where we were hanging out, was that you? We were on foot doing a photo shoot.

Yeah man the rig handled great in the dunes, I even got stuck trying to be a pre runner switching to 2wd but got out with crawl control.

We were only there Sunday/Monday, too bad the weather wasn't great! Beats being scorched though!!:tea:

Yeah that was me in the white Trail on black wheels. I was following my brother in his RZR through the dunes. We hit a couple of crazy bowls and made it out good.

Can't wait to go back. We rented quads and a RZR after our drive.. my first time riding on dunes and damn is it life changing. My life goals changed instantly.. when I got home on Tuesday I hit Craigslist to scope out RZR's and Sand Rails. :ballchain::hungry:

Nice ride man, it looks great! What are your 3 amber DRLs you have mounted to the grill?
 
Trying to decide on color and placement for the T4R emblem.. I like the subtle white on white but the contrast black is nice too. Hmmm

My rear bumper was also swiped in a parking lot and my deductible is high so I messed around with some plastidip.. been contemplating a CBI rear..
