Engine manufacturing code location?

Greetings,

I am considering a 2000 v6 limited and have read that the best motors are the 3rz or 5vzfe, but I have no idea where to find this info on the truck itself. I have the VIN but that doesn't seem to contain that info, at least not through the decoder I used.

Any ideas?

3rz is 4 cylinders, 5vz is 6 cylinders, it's the only two options in the US, unless somehow they got a diesel in from Canda or something.

This is making it more complicated than it needs to be.

Limited 3rd Gen 4Runner's ONLY came with a V6. The only V6 available in 3rd Gen 4Runner's is the 5VZ-FE.

The 5th letter is an N. That's the engine code. Did you check the link I posted?

It sounds like 02SE has it sorted out in that all 2000 Limited V6s are 5VZ, so thanks all, I appreciate the help and the links (KidVerm)
