Boise is pretty nice. I am from larger cities so I thought it was going to be pretty rough. But really, its not bad. There is plenty to do. The traffic is Nil, the people are friendly, and I have never lived somewhere with such little crime!
Unfortunately for me I live at the Air Force Base about 50 miles away (lived in boise but hated the commute) so now i just get annoyed with having to drive up to boise when i want to do something lol. But the city itself is great!
plus its an outdoor mecca up here.
Worst part is lack of professional sports venues to attend

got the wheels done, last night and this morning had to do 2 at a time due to lack of jack stands. didn't spend an Abundant amount on them, but quick sand down, 2 coats primer, 2 coats semi gloss black, 2 coats clear.
going to be ordering some aftermarket wheels soon! But for the meantime this is 10x better imo

Looking good! Nice purchase. Wheels are a nice touch.
As far as the trim there were a couple of different types of wood trim. One was just an add-on kit that the dealer would install. That one is easy to remove. Just blast it with a hair dryer or heat gun. I'm guessing yours isn't because yours is a Limited. That one you'd have to replace all of the trim with either an SR5 trim (black) or Sport trim (silver). I'd go with the black since you have a tan interior. Best bet is to keep an eye out on CL and wait for a wrecked Runner.

Went out on some dirt roads today for a snow picnic. Had to get some poser pics while I was at it. Swaybars are all still attached. Also confirms my need for a rear bumper lol. I probably could have gone a little farther before one of the tires lifted off the ground, but I'm a noob so that's as far as I went.

One thing, I see you painted the tires as well. The cheap trip to avoid that is to place index or playing cards between the tire and wheel when painting.

Close on the military part...I am active duty Air Force, and you aren't the first to ask about the intel/crypto career. It is an interesting field, but the s/n is more of a coincidence. (i'm actually in the medical field) I grew up racing BMX as a kid and there was a local bike builder who designed custom frames called (enigma). As I got older i learned what the definition of the world meant, and it just kind of stuck on every forum I've ever been on.
The DSM part refers to the older turbo eclipses/talons/lasers etc. I used to be big into the whole turbo import thing.
As far as the plates...I bought the Rig from a gentleman in Seattle. I'm currently stationed in Idaho (moving back to az in 3 months). I don't have Idaho plates because even when purchasing a used private party vehicle Idaho tries to tax you on the purchase price. IMO thats just wrong....the vehicle has already been taxed when new. I maintain my permenant residence in Phoenix, and registered my vehicle by mail and saved a few hundred bucks!!! Plus no front plate requirement is always nice.

Its been a long time since I updated on here. No real updates to the rig. I am actually replacing all the wheel bearings at the moment, as well as the rear axle seals, and the front CV boots. I also scored a set of Tacom 17" wheels that I am mounting a set of 285/70/17 tires here shortly. Should be up and ready to pavement pound shortly!

So I got the ol girl a toyota roommate for a while. 2003 Tacoma Double Cab with Camburg long travel and deaver mid travel in the rear.
I sold her after about 18 months of ownership as it was a bit redundant to have two very similar platforms. It has 215k miles on it and was 2wd and I initially had suspension seats in it with 5 point harnesses. But I never had plans on caging it so i removed them for the stock seats and was never able to find suitable factory seatbelt replacements (extended cab ones wouldn't fit)
After a long while beating myself up about it, I traded her in for a 2008 WRX for a daily driver.
Its been great so far! I grew up building/driving quick cars and its nice to have something fun with good gas mileage and reliability.

So I never really got to follow thru with the mods I had initially planned 4 years ago. Family, kids, hobbies, house, other vehicles got in the way
But I have loved and maintained this vehicle the entire time.
In 4 years i've only added 25k miles but she's been a peach the whole time.
I finally got some new tires 255/85/16 Maxxis Bighorns. They are pretty decent. I only paid 600 for em new so I couldn't pass it up.
I also got a CB radio from my secret santa over on tacomaworld for the black truck that I now have saved to install in here.
We went out to the Bradshaw mountains this last weekend and did some exploring of Desoto mine and turkey creek.
Can't wait to start sinking some money back into her and hopefully OME will hurry up and release the BP51 shocks for our platform and I can upgrade to those
