Entune Bluetooth skipping.

I have a trail premium with the entune nav. My phone is an iPhone 6s Plus. When I get into the truck and my Bluetooth connects automatically the music skips/cuts in an out till I go on my phone turn Bluetooth off and then back on. Does this happen to anyone else?

A little more info would be helpful e.g., what yr 4Runner, how do you play music (stream using phone, MP3 via usb or bt, radio, cd's...). After turning BT off and back on, does the music then play fine with the phone connected?

Yes.

All versions of Entune, Nexus 5, OnePlus One, Nexus 5X.

I think Entune just sucks.

Stream it through my iPhone 6s Plus. 2016 4Runner. The music plays fine after I turn off the Bluetooth and turn it back on its just annoying that I have to do that every time I get in the car.

I used to have to 'Cycle' BT (everyday) as well but updating the firmware completely resolved the issue. I'd suggest making an appointment with Toyota. Find out which version of 'Entune' you have; just because you have a new truck doesn't mean that you're up to date! They just came out with Vers 5.1 a few months ago but I don't know which vers is compatible with the 2016 so speak with them, Best to you!

I have never experienced the problem you are describing on my 2015 and an iPhone 6. My firmware has never been updated either. Possibly an iPhone 6s problem?

Minor issues here and there with my 6s. I'd suggest power cycling the phone and resetting entune completely. Setup sucks but it fixed my update and connection issues.

I had the exact same issue with my 2016 TEP and iPhone 6. I agree... frustrating as hell. I've found it to be more stable if you logout of eTune and just run it straight off Bluetooth. Then just log into eTune if you need the other services.

Yeah, this has happened to me a handful of times. 2015 model and iphone 6. Haven't figured out what causes it yet, but it's annoying has hell.

Same problem here. I'm running it with iPhone 5c with the most recent update. I've just been switching bluetooth off then on everytime I get in the truck before I start driving. Have no idea what Entune update I have but I'll have it updated when I go in for the first service.

Is there a way for me to check what software version I have? I went to system Info and it's a big long thing the only numbers I can find in it are 2.1.

Heavy impact can jostle the bits in your digital datastream, exceeding the acceptable bit error rate. The 4Runner head unit is hard mounted to the dash so it relies on the vehicle suspension for bump damping.

I'd recommend upgrading your suspension with the tallest and most expensive system you can afford, along with at least 37" tires in a soft P-metric configuration. :wink2:

Bluetooth skipping

I am having this same issue as well on our new 2016 Limited. Cut BT off then back on and it is fine. But get in the car let it auto connect then start playing, it will skip. This is crap. I mean really kinda makes me pissed. It is so fracking annoying...even if i don't want music, the crap just auto connects then starts playing. and it doesn't even do that right,,,so stoopid

Mine does this occasionally as well in my TE Premium. I just got a 6S (upgraded from a 6), so I'll redo my bluetooth setup tomorrow before our day trip.

Delete the 4Runner from the phone Bluetooth and delete the phone from the entune menu. Reboot both and set up again. I found iOS upgrades cause the skipping. Had similar issues in a Honda Accord. Have to delete both Bluetooth profiles and start from scratch.

The entune/Bluetooth have been what I'd call finicky on my new 4Runner. Can't say it's not as much my phone (iPhone 5) as the head unit though. I've definitely had skipping over Bluetooth. Plugging in over USB seems much more reliable, perfectly reliable so far. And it sounds much much better too. The sound quality alone is enough reason for me to go hard wired all the time. Also keeps my phone charged.

Done that many times...still not fixed.
As soon as I restart bluetooth when it starts skipping, it will work fine for that duration until I turn the car off. Turn it back on it starts skipping again.

I agree! I installed a 3 port USB hub. Entune recognizes two USB sources, so I can have my wifes’ iPod and mine both plugged in and select either with just a touch of the screen.
