Estimates for painting faded hood and roof

Hi.
I'm looking for 3rd Gen's and it seems like a lot of them have faded hoods and roofs. I was wondering if anyone has had this trouble and had their hood and roof repainted. I was wondering how much it would run.

I'd call around your local tech schools and community colleges. The one near me has an automotive class/major. They use your car as basically practice, yet it's still supervised and the finished product is done by the teacher (the pro). Here they charge the cost of paint, plus 20%.

Just something to think about.

I have a 98 LTD 4wd & my the clear coat on my hood is almost all gone. So consequently the paint is slowly fading too. I haven't check on prices to repaint it because I have so many other issues to deal with. I love my 4Runner, but I do think that the clear coat or paint they used that year was bunk!!!! If it's a trail rig, what about a DIY bed liner? Cost is like $100, maybe $150 if you add in your labor.

Plus side is, it's very different!

It's not quite a trail rig yet. I just got it and its sunfire pearl and I kinda like the color since you don't see it as often. Guess I'll get an estimate after the holidays
