I saw that pic earlier when I was researching where mine were set at...

I love the new ride and look.
I want to get tires, but getting the bumper to see how things settle down seems like a smarter next step... and cheaper than tires.... kind of...

What did you decide on?

Now that I've come to realize the amount of lift available from OME coils it's temping to try 884's on the .85" setting since I'm not getting a new bumper anytime soon. Just in case I can save a few bucks I think I'll try the FJ coils on the 2.5" setting when the upper control arms arrive. If it still rides well I will probably keep it that way.

Made some progress this weekend. I got the sway bar relocator, new bushings and upper control arms installed and adjusted the struts to the 2.5" setting.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to have the new tires installed and alignment done.

Got the General Grabber AT2 tires installed today. I am very happy. I forgot to specify the white lettering in or out and they guessed out. It's not what I was planning but I think it looks alright.

Nope, no noises at all. I had a clunk in the front end before I did this round of upgrades so it was either a sway bar bushing or an upper control arm bushing. Luckily, everything is silent now.

In case it helps anybody, here are some details about my alignment. I installed the LR control arms at the "D" setting on both sides which gives +2 degrees caster.

This is what I requested when I took it in this morning:
Caster: 3.0 to 3.5 left & right with +/- 0.1 from left to right
Camber: 0.0 left & right
Toe: 0.04 left & right.
I also mentioned that I had a slight rub on the passenger side mud flap and asked them to see what they could do with it.

The result...
Caster: L 3.7 & R 3.6
Camber: L 0.1 & R 0.0
Toe: L 0.05 & R 0.05
He said he adjusted both wheels to dead center of the wheel opening and then gave me a little extra caster to try to fix the rub. There is still a very slight rub but I think I'll just let the tire "customize" the mud flap until it's no longer an issue.

Overall I'm satisfied with how close they got to my requested specs and it drives great. No vibrations from the wheels spacers, no issues with the tire balancing, no squeaks or clunks and no complaints with the road manners after the alignment. My wife and I are heading out on a 2000 mile road trip to Vancouver and back in a few weeks and now the 4Runner is ready! :becky:

I really liked those tires. I traded my 4Runner for a Tacoma a few weeks ago and it has BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO. I've heard rave reviews about the BFGs but they are way louder than the AT2s were. The AT2s were fantastic in winter conditions and I liked the look of them better too. This will be my first winter with the BFGs but for them to beat out the AT3s overall they will have to be f-ing magical in the snow.
