I replaced my stock '97 springs and shocks with '99 talls and Billie 4600's all around, drove out of the garage and it looked like this:

Yep, I managed to install the perch upside down. I was wondering why it was so bloody hard to compress that spring... :redbrick:

So if you're looking for a good way to get a few extra inches of lift out of your '99 talls, there ya go!!!

for a second there, I thought maybe you put the rear coils on the front...but then I read those word thingys you put in there...

The only hard part about fixing my boneheaded move was re-compressing those springs. I'm a little choked that I dinged up the shiny new springs getting the compressor hooks off but I guess it could have been a lot worse...

To add insult to injury, when I took her in to get the alignment done, the shop couldn't even do it because they said my steering rack needs replacing! Now I have to inspect my rack and see if I can get away with just doing the guides or if I really do need a new one.

The can of worms is wiiiiide open!

I hear you on the steering rack. i have a feeling mine is on it's way out. starting to have to muscle it in low speed turns. :ballchain:

Been there done that on my Tacoma, actually it was my gramps and my buddy that had driverside duties while I worked on the passenger side. The driverside perch ended up being upside down like yours.

How do you like the ride? I am considering the exact set-up but have heard the 4600s can be a relatively rough ride. Thoughts?

I wouldn't call the ride rough at all and to be honest I would like it a little firmer than it is. Don't get me wrong, it rides awesome, but rough is definitely not how I would describe it. I'm hoping the rack is contributing to the problem and fixing that will sort it out, but I find that the truck leans more in corners than it used to. I even replaced all 4 swaybar links so that's not the issue. I'm sure I'll end up doing LBJs and a few other parts around the suspension in the near future so I'll keep you posted.

Sounds like you are getting after it. Might as well check/adjust valve shims while the covers are off.
