Excessive Downshifting

Hey all.

I have a 2010 Ltd. I just came from an Acura RDX. I certainly feel that the toyota shifts down alot even on the smallest hills. Does anyone else notice this? The little Acura never shifted down.

It is from the lack of low end torque in the engine. It needs a lot of rpm to get it to move up a hill.

I have started knocking my TE into Sport mode on any little incline when I'm below 65 mph. Gas mileage actually went up once I started doing this as well as improving acceleration up the hill.

The 5th gen is geared for mileage, hence no low end power. It is fine, most likely. Was a huge adjustment for me as well, now I don't really notice it.
