Exhaust questions -----Flowmaster 50 series

Hey everyone. I decided to go with a Flowmaster 50 series muffler since people here say it gives a nice rumble which does not get annoying. Should I get the exhaust shop to just cut the old muffler out and install the 50 series in it's place or should I get them to run all new piping? Also I hate that rotten smell that comes from the exhaust when the rear window is down. I think it comes from the Cat the Toyota Dealer said?? Should I replace it with a high flow cat, would that help? Also would running the exhaust out behind the rear tire help any? I know some people said this tends to help with the smell a bit? It looks like there are different 50 series mufflers. Which one is the one I want for my 05 4runner - 50 series owners chime in?

Definitely just have them cut out the old one and weld in the new one. No reason to get new pipes unless you want a dual set up or want bigger pipes for a supercharger.

Are you going to get a new tip or keep the old one?

Do you still have the resonator on there?

Thanks for the tip. I figured I'd get a tip put on, but am still looking for one. Yes I still have the resonator on. Nothing was really touched on this vehicles besides whats in my sig. Should I remove the resonator?

I think the resonator effects the sound. I heard of a lot of people cutting it off.

The muffler shop should have some tips that you can choose from. They will probably be cheaper than the ones online. You might want to call them though.

I just got a magnaflow kit put on yesterday, I have the V8, and I got the guys to just cut the old one out and weld the new one in and it just has a turn down right off the muffler, sounds good and gets rid of that ugly stock pipe coming out the back. It's just my opinion but I hate the way the stock pipe looks in the back

I am not sure which way I am going to have the exhaust exit. I just want to do what ever possible to get ride of that damn smell from the exhaust once the rear window is down
