Hmmmm, I like OEM :biggrin2:
I had a borla muffler on my 2000 2wd 4runner and it droned like crazy....I absolutely hated it.
Iron pigg used to sell some mufflers...not sure if they had one for the 4runner or not but they sold trail tone and OEM quiet. I'm sure they could tell you something that "sounds good"
Borla muffler with a resonator then, lol. Do you remember which model you had, what diameter, etc?
Well of course the "best" persay would be the TRD catback system but not the best for the price.
Trd is quiet at high rpm... I don't like that as I have an intake and it screams at high rpm... I want something to match my intake..
I just ordered a TRD cat-back yesterday, I really wanted a Borla but found that they are not made for 01 and 02 models, per Borla at least.
EVERYONE: don't buy a magnaflow
.
I'm very happy with my TRD cat back. It's almost as quiet as stock at idle, but it has a nice low tone once you get your rpms up.
What sort of RPMs are we talking about? 2,000, 3,000?
Is that from personal experience for COB's thread?
Both. My first exhaust was a magnaflow, it lasted 3 years. My current exhaust is a Flowmaster.
