Experience with Clarion NX409 (NX-409) ?

So a big goose egg? Well I should be receiving it tomorrow, will try to install by the weekend. Will let you guys know how it goes.
 
Please provide a review when you have it installed. I've been looking at that one for use in a 4th gen 4R.

Some of the reviews I found on it have me concerned, so I'd like to hear your thoughts. In particular, I found a couple that complained that the Clarion unit took a long time to read a disc (both MP3 and regular CD) before starting playback. Some reviews also complained about the GPS not being particularly responsive.

For the price, and for the features it has, it sounds great. I'd like to read what you think of it.

It just arrived today. With any luck Ill try to install it this weekend and would be glad to report back.
 
Just got done the install. I'm beat and a little frustrated. Details tomorrow, overall I did a good job tho.
 
I too just installed the clarion nx409 into my '06. I thought install was pretty easy, but i had previously installed a scion unit, so i knew what to expect. so far so good with the unit. I think the nav is very good, right on, in my opinion. I will post pics asap. the only problem i have is, i am trying to connect my two headrest monitors to it but i am not getting any sound. but i have not had time to check all the connections yet.

Is it indeed slow to load CDs (whether store-bought or burned, or MP3)?

Did you hook up the factory steering wheel controls too? and if so, how well does that work?

Happy with the GPS functionality?
