Extend-a-Fender (lots of pics)

Just go my bushwacker extend-a-fenders on this weekend and painted to match. Also took off running boards. anyways here it is :biggrin2:

thanks guys it was a little difficult to install but got done after a couple hours. What sucked was the fenders wern't molded that exact so there were a couple gaps and also they gave barely enough black rubber strip to trim the fenders.

i also painted a little under the truck with semi gloss black because after I took off the running boards it looked all faded underneath with a gray that made the truck look so ugly. cant really see but I really recommend it, it makes the truck look a lot better.

So you just took a spray can and sprayed the metal parts under the 4runner?

I've considered doing that.

yea just took a semi-gloss black spray can i had laying around a painted it. Super easy and if you get some on the paint which i did just remove it quickly with some 3m adhesive remover (does wonders)

Cool man. If I did that I would tape off the area. Don't want to take a chance. Lol.

I would like to paid the fuel tank skid plate and the other skid plates under the car.

Hmm...maybe I could paint the spoiler too.

i did my spoiler, rear hitch, and roof rack a while ago with flat black and it was way worth it. The roof rack and spoiler were easy to take off and i just wrapped up the bumper and spare tire to paint the tow hitch. The roof rack I had to sand off the paint because it was chipping then i painted over it with some primer. Do it indoors if possible because the paint will oxidize on when exposed to air and you'll end up with all these little fish eyes

Looks good, nice improvement especially if you plan to lift it and add bigger tires.

I have ordered a set of the extend-a-fenders for my 99 as I already have the 3" lift and 285/75 r16's.

I have always liked the little chrome fender strips but now these look out of place.

How much did it cost to have them painted?

i think the total for both flares and paint match was 400.. it was funny because before i ordered them we went to this 4x4 parts store and they wanted 900 for the same thing..

that is outstanding. I love that look of the flares in the body color.

If you want someone to do your spoiler to match- my son does this kind of thing in auto shop. He did mine and it turned out great.
