Eagerly waiting for the return of "1simplineer" or "1stiflineer"....

God Speed Greg! So long and thanks for all the fish!

Retired Engineer

Extended/Permanent Vacation?
When I first read that I thought maybe you retired, got laid off or quit your day job. It does happen, even to engineers.

Well, I never did like it when you moved my photos of my dog to the General Discussion forum. I mean hey, he rides in my 4Runner once in a while. That's sort of related to 5th Gen isn't it.

But seriously, thanks for all your efforts and good influence on the forum. All public forums need moderating once in a while and you've done your share.

I turn to your thread on tire sizes all the time. You've always had good sound rational advice. Kind of like an engineer... :hail:

So now that you're retired you can travel. When you get to the west coast look me up. I'll show you some of my favorite mountain bike rides.

Take care Greg. Best regards,
Dave

No bueno. No bueno indeed.

On a positive note: Maybe not tomorrow or the next day... someday soon Greg's stress level is going to be exponentially less.

Live Long and Prosper

Someone go start a new supercharger thread nowwww!!!!

In all seriousness, your contribution to the forum was greatly appreciated by me and everyone else. See ya when the 6th comes out!

Farewell

I came to the forum 2 years ago, searching for answers on the 4Runner I hadn't bought. Form then to now, I have been accustomed to "the voice of reason" on the forum, in the form of a member named 1Engineer. Things change, and so do people. Thanks for the time you have spend here as member and -mod-. I have appreciated your efforts greatly and have personally seen the effect your work has had with this chaos.

On to new trails and fresh adventures. This is how I choose to picture you riding off into the sunset...

Best of luck,
Max

I have not been here long but you have helped me Greg and I have appreciated your insight, opinions, and your fairness in moderating the 5th gen thread. If you bought the ZR2 please post your opinions on it. Good luck to you sir.

Thanks 1E for all of your hard work on this forum and the realistic perspective you provided for a vehicle that so many seem to want to make something that it is not.

Hope you come back. We need the old guys here!

I only remember you sharing your affinity for the Land Cruiser and Dodge Challenger outside the 4R. I hope it's not the Dodge - that forum has got to be hell on earth.

Happy singletracks!

I’ve been here since 2006 and Greg has been by far the best mod we have had. And I say that as a friend of Jessie. Thanks for your diligent efforts and good luck with the new ride. At least you are staying in the family.

To you very few over sensitive butt hurt crybabies: F’ Off. Seriously. :flipoff:

I'm constantly on here reading up on the 4Runner and getting ideas on what to do next. I never really post because I don't have anything new to contribute. Whenever I read any of the technical threads, I tell myself to wait until 1engineer chimes in before you make a decision. You have always been the appreciated voice of reason here and I just wanted to say 'Thank you' and you'll clearly be missed here.

I have not been on this site for as long as some folks, but it didn't take long to understand the affect you had on the user community. You are a genuine person and resource and I VERY much appreciate your approach to enlighten us. You will be missed in ways this community cannot possibly understand yet!!!!

This thread does not belong in the 5th gen forum!

Kidding aside, thank you for your time and hardwork!

God Speed!

1engineer thank you for your time and many contributions to making this a better place. I hope you come back, but I understand the need to be away. Best wishes!
