Extra Care Key Replacement

When I purchased my 2010 it only came with one key. The dealer conveniently forgot to tell me until it was time to leave.

I purchased the Toyota Extra Care Platinum coverage.

In the agreement it says it covers the ignition switch lock cylinder and Key Set. But it doesn't say if that covers lost keys.

Has anyone tried to get a replacement key through their Extra Care Coverage.

It doesn't.

Your insurance should have lost keys coverage though.

Personally, I'd just get a blank key online, program it through the TIS and call it a day. In the end, you get the Techstream cable and software to do other things to your vehicle that many dealerships charge for anyways.
