Factory Fog Light Wiring ?

So when my 4R Trail was imported from the US to Canada, they installed a crappy DRL module that keeps my factory fog lights on whenever the vehicle is running. The fog light switch on my signal lever does nothing now.

I want to delete what they have done.

How would I put it back to stock?

I couldn't find a 'fog light' fuse to tap into.

I guess my question is where would the wire be that is connected to the fog light switch or where is the fuse for this so that I can tap into it and have complete on/off control of the fogs?

Unfortunately, I don't think there really is any easy answer to this one. You're going to have to find where they put module and what wires they cut/tapped, and basically undo the voodoo that they did. I would probably start looking around behind the driver's side dash for aftermarket modules, and then if you find it, follow the harness to see how bad it is. If you find it and can't figure it out, post some pictures and I'm sure someone here can help you get it patched up

The easiest way for them to do that would be to simply connect the wires to the fog light switch. That's what I would have done.:nerd:

The wires are underneath the steering column. Here are some pics I took that show the wire and how to get to it. I would check here first.

So it has taken me very long to reply. Thanks for the info Antman!

Winter is gone, I have finished my garage and can actually get working on the 4Runner now!

I figured it out - I think. Whoever installed the DRL module was a hack. Anyways, they cut one wire from each fog light and spliced it with the DRL module. I totally removed everything from the DRL module and will be splicing the two original wires on the fogs back. I'm almost positive this will return it back to stock.

Once that is done, I'll be doing the ever so famous independent fog light mod - !!
