Factory service manuals...

You can get them at the dealers, but even they don't recommend that because it costs $200 when I checked. Keep an eye on ebay. I have seen electronic copies pop up on websites to download... If you can't get the FSM, I wouldn't buy the haynes because they lack a lot of detail. I would try to find the Bentley Manual becuase it's great and it covers everything including diesel models :gaptooth:

In this manual I found something I need to identify....
Please see attached picture. If anyone can tell me what this is I would appreciate it!!

About that picture,

I'm not sure what it is, but I can guess! I think it's some sort of seperator or filter for your gas.

The two lines from the top are probably gas lines.

If you do find out what it really is then tell me.

thank you. actually I did find out what it is. Apparently it is a filter for the gas vapor.
I needed to know becuase it runs into a valve on the engine and I was unsure what it was for, and didn;t know how important it was.
The unfortunate part is that no one at Toyota knows what the hell it is.
Finally after I explained its function and they looked it up on the computer, they quoted me $60 for the part!
Plus $90/hr for labor!
I would do it myself but I have no experience taking apart anything on the engine at all! Oh well.. Hopefully I will not break anything!
