Factory TE rim specs

Im trying to find the specs on factory TE rims. Dealer has been no help and does not know crap.
Width , offset , back space , ect......

I want to get some black rims and start to put my rig together but I know this sounds stupid but I dont know what to order. I plan on 265/70/17's but looking for a company to help me order the right stuff and the look I want. I dont want the tires to stick out past fender flares or maybe a little more inside but not as inside as factory ones.

What does the "J" mean after the 7 1/2 ?

Does this mean I should order these specs but in a 17x8 or 17 x9 to get a slightly wider stance ?

A negative offset will give you a wider stance. 17x8 seems like a popular width amongst members. Back spacing should be kept close to 4.5. Check out the SCS Wheels (sponsor section). Lots of pics that should give you a better idea of how a negative offset kicks those puppies out!

The "J" has to do with the wheel's bead profile.

My Opinion...

If you don't want the wheels to stick out past the fenders, the wheel specs I am running would be perfect for you. 17x8 w/ a 0mm offset. You will notice that most people here running a 9" wide wheel have a -12 offset. They like the extra wide stance, but it also aids in the tire clearing the suspension components in the wheel well. Like I said, if it is not an "extreme" look you are going for, 17x8 w/ 0mm offset will get the job done. There are also some good options that would be 17x8 w/ 0mm or maybe -6mm that I think would fit your criteria as well.

You're rocking 285s though aren't you? That's going to aid in filling out that wheel well. Love the look, but for us 265ers got a little more overcompensating to do!

With a 265 you can get away with a larger offset. -6 would be fine. As long as you stick to a 17x8 wheel, I think you can get the look you want with a -8 or -10 offset.

You are correct sir...didn't think about that. If running the 265 tire, you should consider the -6 to -10 offset to get you the look you want.
