Factory Tow Package Wiring Disconnect

Hey all,

So my wiring for my tow package ripped. I know this is an easy repair through splicing the wires, but I don't want to lay on my back in the snow while it's -5 degrees to do this. I can't figure out how to completely disconnect the wiring so I can do it in my house. Any tips or pictures?

there should be a connection up in the left rear, above the bumper. it won't take long to disconnect. maybe a bit stiff due to the cold weather. disconnect it there and fix it indoors.

01 Thunder is correct. My 02 Sport came factory with a tow package but the wiring wasn't there when I bought the truck.

I googled the info about wiring hook ups and I even found pics of the factory connector up inside the left rear 1/4 panel.

I found a correct factory style wiring harness on eBay for like $25.00. I ordered it, it came in, and I hooked it up in less than 5 minutes. It was as simple as plugging it into the OE location and bang I was in business. I've towed my 14' bass boat numerous times since and the lights have always worked perfectly.
