We had the windshield of the 4runner replaced. The installers cut through the XM antenna wire. Now we have no satellite radio. I tried to splice it but it did not work. My question is, Is the Antenna plug for the XM on the JBL Synthesis the same as the antennas that you can buy for the aftermarket xm receivers?? Does anyone have a picture of the back of the JBL Synthisis head unit so I can compare??
I want to research before I take the stereo out to investigate. Thanks for the help.

the factory sat receivers are under the passenger seat. it goes from the antenna to the receiver to the wire harness connector behind the radio. My guess would be to find an antenna/cable that plugs into the connector for the receiver under the seat it should work fine.

All I have under my seat is the heater vent and the motors for the seat....... I guess next weekend is tear the stereo out weekend! Unless someone has pictures??

Is there a reason you aren't going to the windshield place to address necessary repairs to something they damaged?

How did you splice the wire? I cut our xm radio antenna wire a couple years ago & spliced it successfully. The key on ours was to reconnect the center wire and the foil jacket, but make sure the two don't short to each other. My temporary fix with electrical tape has worked for 2+ years so I guess it is now permanent.
