Failing Water pump, fan bracket, or something else?

Looking to get pointed in the right direction to determine if this is something I can handle. Recently I’ve noticed a interesting sound coming from my engine bay and need your help. From the looks of it, the fan assembly has a slight wobble to it with a matching sound.

It’s v6 with 268k. TBelt/water pump replaced about 90-100k ago. Fan clutch replaced a few months back.

I recently did my timing belt and found the fan bracket making a bit of noise at 230k so check yours. You are probably due for a timing belt.

I'm sure its the fan bracket. I don't think the water pump/TB idler pulleys would make a noise like that but the fan bracket itself (water pump and idlers would seize/whine instead of making a horrible noise like that). What I would do is to pull the fan clutch off along with belts and try to spin the bracket bearing by hand and feel for play.

Some kind of bearings sound awful. Fan clutch?

Should be whisper quite once fan clutch unhitches itself.

When water pump bearings give out, the pump leaks after engine is turned off.

You can see the fan clutch bearing assembly moving in it out it looks like. So either you bolts and studs are extremely loose or that bearing going bad. As a possibility.

You could follow this video to see how to remove it. You don't need to drain of remove the radiator so skip that.

Thanks for for video and confirmation. Was able to get it replaced yesterday and it’s all fixed. Bearings were fried and had lots of metal shavings
