I ran my 94 4runner V6 into the ground, the fan pulley bracket seized and blew the pulley of the bracket. The shop wants $1270 to fix this. The bracket is only $99 for the part and yeah installation will be a bit*h but not $1270 worth (i only paid $1600 for it 3 years ago). My concern is theres about a 1.5 inch shaft that comes out of the bracket and this is where the break occurred. Does this shaft run all the way into the engine itself to hold the pulley or is this part of the fan bracket?
My runner is still drivable with no power steering or alternator and it overheats after awhile because of the radiator leak but i can get it too and from if i need (but im letting it sit for the most part except the drive to the shop) with driving it these short distances cause any further damage of am i ok with very very limited driving till i can fix the problem?
Thanks
