Man oh man,
I just got back from a drive into the mountains in my little VW to a place called Baumholder with my snowtires it was like Ice skating. Within 10 minutes of starting to snow there was already about 1 1/2 inches of snow, fresh wet snow. Man oh man was it scarey, if anyone's been to Germany you know the roads, no center lines, narrow, hilly/mountainous, and everyone thinks every road is the autobahn. It was freaky, I didn't realize you could control a slide so long, I litterally slid my car down a mountain. I could turn the wheel lock to lock while applying throttle and never change position on the roadway. I safely made it to the Autobahn by using my e-brake and compression braking, my throttle was useless.
So the part where I fell in love all over again was when I decided to get ready for work, I'm on the night shift right now and the snow hadn't let up, so I used the 4Runner tonight. Holly Sheepshit Batman, its simply incredible.
Between my factory Bridgestones, VSC, and ABS it was like there was no snow or ice on the roads. I'm anxious to see how I do on the ride home due to the temp dropping to the teens now and there will be far more ice.
Wish me luck I leave in about 3 hours.
Just thought I'd share this with you guys, this is my first time in snow of any type of volume with the Runner and it is amazing. I've had lots of 4wd's before, Tacoma, T100, Ford F150, 86 4Runner, several Jeeps and hands down this was the easiest, most effortless drive I've ever had in the snow. I'm simply amazed, and whats the old slogan:
