Field Monitor Wiring harness pigtail

Long ago I wired up my unit but never had a female pigtail for the monitor so I made the connections to the pins directly on the unit straight from the wires by using molex pins and and heat shrink tape around each wire.

As time has gone on the connectors loosen and my temp signal has fallen off completely.

Any one have a p/n or source for the correct pigtail plug/loom? Or a spare...

Long shot.

Any other solutions?

Best!

90980-11255 is the connector for 83482-35010, if that's the sensor you used. Or did you use the smaller black sensor (like 88790-22131) with the OEM connector on the vehicle?
They're called ambient temp sensors, fwiw. Really helps with finding results online

I need the multi pin connector that goes to the field monitor itself, not just the temp sensor plug.

I believe the field monitor is an 8 or 10 pin connector.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I know this is an old thread but i just went through the same issue. Bought a FM in New Zealand when I was there last year but didnt get any of the connectors with it.

Figured id post this for the next guy with Toyota autism to find :cowboy: Went through hell to figure this out...

PN for the male plug (harness side) for the FM is 90980–11581. This plug is used in 1 position in VSC equipped 4runners (2001/02 at least). The connector is used to connect to the steering angle sensor in the steering column.

it is also conveniently used for the same purpose in at least the 02-03 Lexus RX300s with VSC (Will have a VSC badge on the door). Confirmed this yesterday and scored a few at the junkyard if someone needs one. They however do not have 9 wires going into them so you will either need new pins to crimp or cut some other plugs out of the donor vehicle to get pre-terminated wiring. The examples i found have between 4 and 6 wires depending on options/year of the donor vehicle.

It at least gets you the plastic backshell which seems to be discontinued at Toyota.

Howdy mate. I was wondering if you had any more male connectors for the field monitor unit? I am having the toughest time finding one because the FMU I bought did not come with one.

I'm completely unrelated to any of this but tagging 98taco3 (for future reference, you can quote reply and that also sends them a notification)
