How's frame holding up?

Nice build...didn't read all 83 pages of it, but considering 3rd generation 4 runner in rust belt in the U.S. How's your frame held up unless you've been keeping it out of the snow?

Nevermind I just found your undercoating video on page 79
 
My 3rd Gen has a new home... :)

So, it took them 5 weeks to complete... and then I tackled the inside finishing work (paint, cabinets, etc...)





It's official folks... I now have a fully functional shop to maintain my Toyotas! :)

I've got a dedicated workout room in this house... Heavybag, double end ball, speedbag, and free weights, with 2 pullup stations, and a squat rack.




As for the lift... I'd love one... but currently out of my budget. lol!
 
That garage is probably twice the size of my house! Will be so nice to have that much space to mess around in.
 
Don't expect too much... lol! I plan on keeping this old girl as is for a long time. That being said... I have toyed with the idea of pulling the frame, and doing a complete restoration on the truck...

Might be a while for that though.... that being said... I do have a few projects in mind for this winter.... so stay tuned if you feel like seeing turn some wrenches! ;)
 
Excellent garage! You deserve it.

Propane or wood for the winter? Or are you toughing it out until the bill is paid down a bit?
 
$60k for a house? Around here those low prices haven’t happened since the late 70s, before the 4Runner was even introduced and I was two. If i didn’t have a searing hatred for snow and the cold in general, I may would come to Canada.

The lift would make it, give you serious forum cred.
 
Alright... so I'm a liar... I didn't get a pic of my heater... turns out my memory is complete shit, and I keep forgetting to snap one.

I do however, have pics of a little project I've been working on... I was talking with a tow truck driver the other day, who was dropping this old shed off at the city dump. I asked the guy, how much it was cost for him to turn around and drop it off at my house instead...



Turns out... I had quite a bit of leftover materials from both my house and garage build, just sitting in my old garage... so I put them to use.



So far, I have approximately $150.00 invested in this shed... probably spend another $50.00 to build the doors and buy some hinges. Not a bad buy... lol!
 
So... I did a thing.... and added another car to the stable....



The Saturn Ion did us well for the last 2 years... but I decided to plan ahead, and get our new car bought, in order to have it paid off before I'm ready to replace my 05 Tacoma.

Specs on the car... 2018 Honda Civic Hatch, LX, 1.5L Turbo, Manual. Pre-owned with 20,000kms on the odometer. The previous owner dipped the badges, tinted the windows, and paid the premium for the OEM Honda Rubber mats.

Something you may not know, I had never driven a manual before recently. When I bought my 4Runner in 2004, I searched for a Manual, but couldn't find one. Years later, a few vehicles have come and gone... and still never driven a manual.

We picked it up on September 29th, and I got a driving lesson from my dad. Immediately fell in love with a manual!! lol! This car is fun as hell... too bad it's the wife's car!





Anyway... rest assured... I won't be driving it that much... still have a love affair with my 3rd Gen.

Julie should be quite pleased! It must make the bus seem like driving a turtle. Some interior and engine pics are a must when you have time.

Never too old to learn how to drive stick. Sooooo much more fun than an automatic. I once bought an Acura years ago that was one state away. Problem is I had never driven a manual before. Needless to say I had to learn quickly or be out $6000.

It was actually the same situation for us... we travelled 6hours away to go test drive and purchase the car! lol! We had priced it out on the interwebs... found one that was affordable for us, and had all the financing / insurance setup before, before we left town. By the time we got to the dealership (a Chrysler dealer who took the car on a trade), the car was even plated. We hadn't even tested the car, or told them we were for sure taking the car. Julie had only driven a manual twice before... and hadn't done so in about 2 years. I had never...

She drove it off the lot... I went to my parents place. I ended up driving it 250kms home the next day, after she drove the first 300kms. :rofl:
