Finally bought one ! 265/70 tire question

This weekend I bought a 06 G/Gray V8 4x4 Sport.

I won't be picking it up until thur's,because XM is getting installed , and don't have any time to get there....lol

I'm going friday for tire's . I'm still a litte ,,undiecided about BFG or Revo's . I've ALWAY'S had BFG on all my truck's since 85 and thinking about going to Revo's to try them.

I've heard they make them in a stock 265/65/17 size , which I did not know until today. I've read about a few people staying with stock size because of speedo being off and rubbing,power loss, ect , and they felt it was'nt worth the hassle's, now it's got me second guessing going to the 70 series tire. I do really like the fact of the bigger size and looking a little more truck like and a slight tad higher .

ALso I know it's all personal pref. but should I do white's inside or outside on a Galatic Gray Sport ??????

This is my first Toyota and foriegn vehicle period , I'm a little nervous about it

Going from 265/65 to 265/70 is only about a 3% change in tire diameter. So at 70 mph your spedometer will read 68.

The V8 has planty of power and (at least in the '04s) a lower gear ratio than the V6.

I'm not really concerned about the slight drop in milage or the speedo be slightly off. More so concerned about the add'l weight (especially with the bfg's) and rubbing from what I saw a few member's.

Not sure if I will go to the Revo or stay with my favorite BFG AT. I love the way the BFG's have taken care of me over the years. Never had even a flat or anything and I think they are a quiet and smooth running tire. I also love the squared off shoulder that the BFG has,and they have the best looking white letter's IMO.

Depends on what matters most to you.

Go Revo if you want slightly better performance in cornering and wet/rain traction. Revos have a lot of fans here and it ought to be one kickin' tire.

Go BFG A/T KO if you want all terrain toughness, 6 ply C rated LT tire, and the confidence of sloggin' through rough terrain.

Any AT is going to weigh much more than the stock Dunlops (36 lbs).

The 265/65/17 Revo is 41 lbs.
The LT 265/70/17 Revo is 49 lbs. The passenger is 43.

KO 265/70/17 is 44.
