Finally Front Disco's That Work

I'd be interested for front and rear, but need to get some other suspension components done first. Would you need to secure the actual link from flopping about once disconnected?

I am in for a GB and would like a front set. I used something similar on my 3rd gen and they worked great.

With me having a 3rd Gen the front is completely different from the 4th, 5th, and FJ's. Those picture are from someone who came to me about that design. I worked with him for a couple weeks coming up with the sizes needed to make it happen. He's been running them for a couple months now with no issues.

I'll get in touch with him to see if he can get anything for us.

That is the design I came up with six years ago for the 120 series and numerous people copied it. It works for the 6th Gen as well. You have to check the connections on the spindle upright occasionally to make sure they don't get loose.

I have KDSS so I won't be disconnecting my sway bar.

The last link is what pictured on the forum. It's the spacer that's held in place with some nylon webbing.

Your KDSS system will act just like someone that has these disco's.

Not trying to slam the design here... I'm very happy to see someone produce something like this. But I wanted to point out one potential issue on the front sliding design... (with a possible solution)

A friend of mine [MENTION=809]fattire[/MENTION] got these and I was curious to see how they worked out on the trail. Disconnect worked fine and they seemed to perform well while wheeling.

The problem came into play while trying to reconnect and get on perfectly flat ground...There may be another trick to it that he will eventually figure out on his own, but it appeared to be a 15-20 minute struggle to get the pins back in. Perfectly flat ground is not always easy to find...

The pin design seems to allow for very little tolerance for movement once one side is connected. I understand why.. you don't want it to rattle around. I honestly did not try myself... ( I was coming down with a cold and not feeling well...) so I just watched him struggle LOL.

Anyway, a solution to this situation might be to loosen up the links spindle stud on one side.. and then tighten that up last. That should give it enough play to easily line the pins up while not on 100% flat ground.

My disconnect is always very easy to get back on and I think it is because I put the link into the spindle last.

Anyway, just a trick to keep in your back pocket if you get these.... It may not even be a problem for everyone...

Comments like this are better to be PM'ed where we can talk. I haven't received a PM about any issues with these links for anybody on any forum this are sold on.

Correct, putting them back together on uneven is an issue. You have a lot of pressure on your sway bar since the weight of your vehicle is putting pressure on the it. I don't like the idea of having something that the end user needs to tighten when re-installing. This has failure written all it. The end of the links are welded to ensure nothing comes apart when you're driving down the road.

The pins also only go back in the link one way. If it's difficult you need to spin the collar around 90* to get the holes to line up better. This is an isolated issue that that hasn't been brought to my attention by anybody else. The design was also based on an existing design that has worked for several years prior to mine coming out.
