Finally got my "trail" badge.

Yeah you should treat or clear coat any of them if you want them to last.

AFAIK all of the materials ship without a final/clear coat.

I painted my trail badges Monday, dying to find time to clean the 4Runner and put them on!

I might use the bunged up ones as a test for drilling and powder coating just to see how they react before trying anything like that on the replacements. :whip2:

Man. You guys spend a lot of time on advertising what you have.

I have had a couple people ask me "What is that?"

I say "A 2015 Trail Edition 4Runner" and I am done.

Guess I am just not that into all the badging and crap.

I think the TRAIL badges looks great on these guys rigs, only problem is I don't have a TRAIL.

The only badge (sticker) I refuse to have on any of my vehicles is the dealership badge/sticker. No free advertisement here....ound:

I guess it's a personal taste thing. I see so many vehicles where they are splattered with "Turbo", "Super Duper Offroad 4x4" I just laugh.

Lean, mean and clean. That's my style.

I like to keep it clean but wanted a little something for it to be different. The back emblems are black so it doesn't stand out much. Curious how the new ones will be marked with the TRD off-road

Yep, I'm with you there, especially excessive badging. My Corvette was supercharged to the max, from engine, to tranny, to gears, excessive H/P for "street use" to be truthful, but, no badging, it was a "sleeper."

But I still think the "TRAIL" badging looks good, and is no more than the "SR5, or Limited," badging that comes on our 4runners.

I think there's a difference between minimal badging and zero badging. The Trail really has no badges except for the front emblem and rear...

Just this weekend I had to explain to my neighbor which 4Runner I had. He's a staunch Toyota guy but asked because he said 'there's normally an emblem on the sides but yours are missing'. He thought it was a model under the SR5..because even that model gets a damn badge. :bash:

Got mine yesterday. How do you powder coat plastic?

These are the black steel ones so they should powder coat just fine. That's why I didn't go with the plastic material although the plastic material is easier to deal with if there are are deformities from the printing process.

I generally don't like badges, but had toyota done this style badge on the trail i would never take it off. It's so awesome. On the flip side, I like explaining to folks how to distinguish a trail from the rest of the fleet. I say no badge and look for grey accents on front and rear!

Here are some trail badges for ya. Went to a ORV park and did some crawling. Bit off a little more than I could chew on a stock 4runner trail but the performance off road at stock hight and capability is something to take note of. Holy cow.
