For a beautifully done 4Runner!

I'm getting ready to lift mine some more and get 285's. I was worried about gas mileage, but it sounds like if you drive conservatively in relatively flat area's turning the big tires isn't so bad with the 4.30's (what I have too)
 
Looks sweet! However, what's your CV angle looking like? I thought putting spacers on top of the 883's was a little dangerous and stresses the CV angle beyond a healthy angle?

I all depends on how much lift you're getting up front from the 883s. With the TJM 15 and Warn M8000 I was a little under 2.5" of suspension lift up front. I know some have gotten more, but that's where I was. Adding the topouts puts me around 3" and I've got a diff drop so I should be good to go.

I think I need to run some Lucas gas treatment and maybe some Amsoil PI through a few tanks to clean it out or something, you are getting as good or better MPG than I am with a roof rack, heavier bumpers, much larger & heavier tires.

With 305-56-17 and 2.5'' lift F and 3.5 lift R and stock 4:10 gear and drive like grandmom like try to stay under 2000RPM I getting 16.5-17 MPG in city and 19-20 MPG on highway, rite now debate off getting regear 4:88

Thanks, glad you like it! I'm running OME 883s with top outs up front, 890s in the rear, OME comfort shocks all the way around, and a 2" RB body lift. I know body lifts can look terrible, but with our 3rd gens if you install bumpers, sliders etc. after the body lift and add some home made gap guards then its pretty hard to tell.

Which is about what I should be getting right?
Somewhere around 16mpg city and at least 19-20 hwy.

I am getting at best 13 city and don't really know Hwy yet haven't been on a trip with it. I pretty much just milk it around town, not hot footing it at all.

I think maybe I should change spark plugs and run some Amsoil PI through it and see what happens.
That 3+ mpg I should be getting is costing about $15 per fill up.

Couldn't agree more that its not as big of a jump as people think it is.
I've got stock 4.10's and at 70 i'm just below 2K rpms. At 80mph im about 2300

As for gas mileage......mine sucks. averaging around 13-14 regardless of city or highway.

I basically hit the front skid plate, the frame along the length of the 4runner, and the rear axle. I don't think you'll hurt anything by adding a little spray paint, but I'd probably stay away from things that move a lot (suspension parts) or get really hot (engine compartment, muffler, etc.).
