I came from a B7A4Q to my 4th gen v8 4Runner...its quite a change but I have always been a truck man myself. Why did you switch to such a drastically different vehicle?
Well I traded in my G35 Coupe when my daughter was born. At the time I thought that would be sufficient for awhile.
Now I have a 3 year old boy, a 4 year old daughter, and my 11 year old sister tags along with us all the time (I enjoy her company and kids love her)
So since the opportunity presented itself to get something bigger the 4Runner and LR4 are the only 7 seaters that catch my eye
The fact that I could mod the 4Runner to my likings is a big plus
(can't do that with a Pilot for example), and the LR4 gets 13/17 MPG!
Anyway all in all it's just more convenient having a bigger vehicle. For example today my kids, wife, brother, and sister are going to the Circus, that's
6 people including 2 child seats and I still have room for one more.
With the BMW my little sister would be
Cramped sitting between the two car seats, with the 4Runner she has at least 4 inches more clearance on each side each child seat.
