Anybody else going to try GY Adventure 265/60r20 tires on limited wheels when they come out in January? Listed for 1/24/14 release on tire rack and fit 7" rim!:reddance:

It looks like Goodyear lists them with 7.5" minimum recommended wheel width.... product 748097572

I cross checked on the Goodyear website and they have it spec'd for a minimum of a 7.5" rim. Also the OD would be a bit larger, might have rubbing issues, not sure. I tried to check it on the Tire Size Calculator, but it does not have that size in its database. You could probably interpolate between the 245/60R20 and the 275/60R20 and get an approximation on the new OD. A lot of people have put 275/55R20 without a problem, so maybe the higher aspect would fit...
I previously contacted Tire Rack about a couple of other errors on their site and they never responded.
Keep searching, don't lose hope :wink2: I just picked up some 17" FJ wheels and plan to wrap them with LT265/70R1 E rated Duratracs. Just had our first snow dusting last night, so it's about time.
As another alternative, I was looking at purchasing Pirelli Scorpion Verde P255/55R20 to put on my limited rims. Their performance is rated very high, but $$$. Not for A/T, but I think they will be great for 3 seasons. Has anyone tried them?

Thanks for replies. Just ordered blizzaks today for stock rims. Guess I'll stick with original plan of 265/65-18's on aftermarket rims from tirerack. I'll have to verify fitting completely though because tr has stated xd series addicts 20" would not fit 4runner without lift and yet I see pics all over the net of people using without issue.

Thanks Poodlemaster for being another person with snow tires on a truck! My family thinks I'm insane for putting Blizzacks on the stock LE rims. In general, they think I'm crazy for running winter tires on a truck.
IMHO Skinny 20's aren't any good to me off road, they look a bit goofy at their current offset, so why not make them winter wheels? The offset of the wheels will help keep the salt/rocks/crap from being thrown up on to the truck and in the spring I can find something in a 17 or 18 with an offset a bit more to my liking.
I have 4 DM-V1's sitting in my garage until I get to mount them up. I think the stock LE wheels with Blizzacks on the T4r are going to make for some fun ski trips this winter!

It's surprising how many people think a 4x4 truck needs winter tires the least when it is exactly the opposite. Imagine braking and/or cornering on slick icy roads in a 3000lb car vs 6000lb truck with considerably less traction with a kid walking out in front of you. What are you saying here? Are you pro Winter Tire? Because IMO ALL vehicles need winter tires in the winter, 4X4 or not.

I am for winter tires as well. My dad is anti. He used to drive sports cars on summer only tires all year in New England. Looking back, I'm surprised he didn't wreck cars more often.
My wifes AWD wagon is ok with the all seasons, but for me, in New England, the price of snow tires is worth it. I also get to shop for extra rims
Another way off topic thought: My wifes car has "wheel speed sensor" based TPMS. No sensors in the wheels required. Why can't people switch to this? It's much less trouble for those of us that run dedicated winter rims/tires!
