Called ARB this morning and spoke with Mark in the tech department. He says that the 03-05 4R doesn't need protection in that area because the washer bottle isn't in the way. Their philosophy is if there isn't anything in need of protecting why add more weight. Really fast service and he knew exactly what I was talking about instantly. I'll eventually add some fender liner material there to cover it up from water/dust.

Don't get caught up in the front and forget the rear! I have (had) a stock bumper (it's still not back on after like 3 months, lol) and even with the fender liner/mudflaps, I still got a LOT of mud stuck back there, so with the steel you really should cover. Don't want you to have to pull the bumper to clean every month lol. Plus, it'll be a nice writeup for me to follow when I get a bumper! No design for me

huh thats interesting it was the same thing for my dads tacoma but i didn't bother sense i didn't think about anything of it and there demo truck does not have it but the 03 to 05 4runner does… on there truck any way, i just like the peace of mind not to think its acting as a funnel when i hit water haha

So now that the truck is running it's time to add some more power. Power will come in the form of a TRD supercharger. Should get here Thursday. I'm pretty excited to see how the combo of low intake temps, headers/full exhaust and a blower run on this new fresh motor...mmmm horsepower

How are you going to get that to work? Was under impression that they won't work on the 4runner cause of an ecm incompatibility issue. Hope I'm wrong, would love to supercharge it!
Edit: seen it's for 2000-2004 only. Mine is the 05 which seems to be the problem for me.

Ha yeah looks like you sorted it out. It should work no issue on my 03.

You COULD make it fit, you probably just need a custom ecm mapping and maybe a few mods. Anything's possible with money! [MENTION=80027]Nathana92[/MENTION] is gonna have no problem, and some fun installing.

It's running pretty good, it's rich right and lean in some places now. I hooked up a wide band gauge and boost gauge. It's pulling 5-6 lbs of boost but it's bogging. I'm not using the TRD ECU because 1 it doesn't fit my ECU second I have headers and a intake so it wouldn't be a good tune. So now it's not using the 9th injector. I'm going to contact Gadget and sort out the best tuning solution. It's fast for those wondering.

Oh dass hawt. How are those TRD headers holding up? And from pic number 1 they seem to be getting a little old from what I could see. What did you have to modify for the fit?

They're great and not old I'm not sure what you're referring to but they have less than 10k on them and you can't see the headers in any of the above pics. They had to be dimpled where the steering shaft rubs and the dipstick had to be rerouted.

Pic 2, sorry. You can see the flange to the block I believe.. more of a joke than anything. Are they muddy?

Edit: I have a screen more cracked than the stock exhaust manifold, my bad, they just have that bronze heat coloring.
