great build, was fun reading it all. always wondered want it would be like.

as for the v8 didn't they go VVTi for the 05+ 4.7/4.6 which is why they stopped making the s/c? I think I read something about 240ish to 280ish hp?

I really wish they woulda done a part-time 4wd for the v8 but pretty sure people would kill tires in a T4R

indeed since 2005 there is a VVTi version. however I'm not sure if that was the reason to stop S/C's.
Nathana92 - could you describe the works done by left header (clearance for a steering shaft needed?) and document with some photos?
I have the same issue - will put new aftermarket Manzi headers for Tacoma/Tundra, so cats will be reconnected as well....

Thanks man. It's been a wild ride that's not over yet. I have more plans for it but some other toys that are in the way. I don't know why they stopped making the S/C but I've read that it's not compatible with the 05+ motor, I've heard the same for headers.

Yes a 2wd option part time would be perfect for my burnout cravings!

Well it's kind of something you just have to do. I don't know if you have installed your headers yet or not. However once you put them on you'll know if you have work to do or not. The collar on the steering shaft literally touched my headers so I hit it really hard with a hammer...and then hit it again...and again....then I took it off heated it up and hit it some more. Sorry I didn't take any pictures but i'm sure you get the point. Just bend the header away as needed.

How'd you get them tucked in so far?

Haven't tried. Just drove home from the tire shop. They rub in reverse. I plan to chop the body mount, get UCA's to push the wheel forward, cut the fenders and remove the wheel well liner.

Ya I don't have uca's yet, but I've done a ton of trimming! Mine sit out about an inch.

Yeah I just kinda fell into 35's. I don't ever drive the 4R except to mess around and my tires were getting worn out. I came across the wheels for free and the tires are brand new, got them for $500. So all told I'm in the wheels and tires $550 after mount and balance.lol
