I'm still tinkering with the aesthetics, just haven't decided how to proceed with the check engine light. I've also found there is a very small oil leak and it appears to be the rear main seal. I hate to tear into the knock sensor and not address the other issues but on the other hand, don't want to drop $2k rebuilding the engine. Just trying to find the right balance... ...and the temptation to upgrade to a 3rd Gen since parts are more available. 1st world problems for sure :biggrin1:
Back to the actual work. The fuel door latch was broken so the door was always open. I considered cutting the latch off the donor and epoxying it to the 4x4 door but decided to make my own. Used a small piece of aluminum stock and bent it up to match the latch. Works GREAT!!

If someone is interested in how I got my first car from Toyota, then this post is for you. It was in 2019, I climbed the expanses of the Internet and came across some kind of website for cs go. This site turned out to be blackjack csgo. Entering it, I saw that the site was playing the car. I laughed and immediately thought it was a scam but still the hands themselves began to fulfill the conditions. I registered in the draw and a week later a letter from the site came to my gmail. I could not believe my eyes. (By the way, I won a Toyota Camry car).

awesome! at one point in my life I also had 2 2nd gen 4runner in my driveway too haha
