First out of state trip in my 4R

Wow, I've had this truck going on 3 years and it never ceases to amaze me how much I still look forward to driving it every day. I recently took my girlfriend to Louisiana for her bday and we traveled a good 1600 miles total and it behaved beautifully! The only malfunction was a rusty nail made a home in my rear tire and I had to give myself a crash course in 4Runner tire changing 101. My girlfriend found the whole spare tire housing (dropping and lifting) very entertaining, which kind of amused me that she had never seen that before. My lease is up next year and I'm definitely seeing another 4R in my future. Only next time I want a V8...and a 5-speed tranny...and GPS...and iPod integration...and bluetooth...and...

It's a good feeling to be just as happy with your vehicle purchase three, five, ten, and even more years down the road.

We have taken the 4Runner on many trips and it is almost as comfortable as any minivan or car we have owned. I could wish for slightly more comfortable seats or even higher roof height, but the Runner rides as well most crossover types and better than just about any other truckbased SUV (except for it's GX cousin).

Toyota really hit on an excellent combination of comfort, ride, handling, towing ability, and off-road performance.

It will be interesting to see what the next generation holds.

Overall I'm very happy I got the 4runner also. I was looking for a suv with a v-8 and a full-time system to replace my 98 explorer with full time awd, limited slips, and a great 5.0L V-8.

I've put on 20,000 in 8 monthes and the 4runner hasn't missed a beat yet. Oil changes every 3000 miles religioulsy......

I can't wait come january when I will make my transition to Colorado and I will finally get to see A-trac work in the snow and compare it to past vehicles with more tradional setups I have used out there. Once the dunflops wear out some BFG At/Ko's are going on.
