I just clayed our new Focus and want to do my 3rd gen but I'm afraid it might take two clay kits to do the whole thing, one bar might just do the hood since I know my truck needs it.
I never knew anything about claying until a co-worker of mine told me about it last year. Claying is a must and will make a difference before going to the compound, polish, and sealer/wax. You have to get rid of those contaminents first.
Did exactly as you did this past weekend with just a polish of Meg's 105 in between the claying and the Collinite to get rid of some bad salt water etching from the shore. Came out fantastic. Should easily last to end of October when I do my winter prep/protect.
I really should have done this back in late May/early June. Collinite is absolutely the best.
I agree! I just realized that clay bar is amazing! I couldn't believe the smooth feel the runner had to it! I went with meguires bar kit and I just use some quik detailer to keep it up between washes!
