Fishing Monkey's 99 Limited Project

Been reading and learning a lot here in the past year.
Bought this 99 Limited back in September of 2012...was a 1 owner with 83,000 miles.

I have not done a lot with it for about a year.
Mostly reading and learning.

I now have 110,000 miles and have started getting to work.
Installed Yakima rack system.
Installed Pioneer head unit.

Did timing belt and water pump service at 90,000....watched youtube and followed the directions.

Just started the mods this month.

Ordered the Toytec Boss lift system....should be here Tuesday.

Ordered a set of the Toyota 17" split spoke rims....should be here next week.

Today I took the running boards off and sand blasted the frame.....Had a few places that started to show some rust.

Rims

Got home today and the UPS man left me some boxes.
My toyota split spoke rims.

Toytec lift came in today.
It was raining so we could not work this afternoon....came home and started on the passenger side.

Sandblasted some of the areas and applied the undercoat paint and then started on the lift.

Got the back sandblasted and sprayed.

Installed the 890 Springs and Blistein 5125 shocks on rear.

Hey man, what make/ model of sandblaster did you use to do this? I assume you have a decent compressor to boot.

Wire wheeling/grinding/sanding is too difficult to get into the cracks and corners that you were able to.

You can buy it at a Tractor Supply or I think Harbor Freight has the same model. I will take a pic tomorrow and post it for you.
It's a 110lb Central Neumatic one.

You will need a two stage compressor to be able to keep it going.

Tires

Finally got around to buying tires.....settled with a set of Nitto Terra Grappler 285-70-17 with the 5 star split rims.

I am having a problem getting my center caps to stay on.....they will not snap in place like they did on the other rims.

Any suggestions??

I really like the look of those split-spoke wheels.

No help with the center cap issue, however. Good luck with that.

its coming along very nicely, great idea with the sandblaster, that is on my list of tools to have as well.

with these wheels you really have to whack in the center cap, also i suggest buying extras, as the tabs tend to break, be careful with them and never let anyone else take them off cause they will mess them up.
