Fix one issue and another pops up...sound familiar?

Hey everyone, have a couple questions for those more experienced than I:

First what I have:
95 SR5 3.slow/auto, tow package with 4.88 factory gears with OME shocks, OME torsion bars cranked pretty good, OME 2.5" lift coils. ARB bumper, Warn VR8000, Trailgear rear bumper with fabricated tire swingout, 33x12.50's

What I did this weekend:
Have issues with rear tires rubbing TDC (at full load, i.e. dog, kid, wife, tools, spares yada yada yada), so I put on ToyTec coil spacers, longer brake line and made sure things didn't get weird at full droop. Mission accomplished, no issues there.

Had to lift front now of course, so I went with Toytec BJ spacers. No issues putting them on, however when test driving there's a rather spooky vibration happening, sounds and feels like CV shafts. Is this because of the new angles/binding going on from spacer install? Would a diff drop cure/minimize this issue? I don't want to have to take it someplace to get this worked out...

Any advice on the vibration issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! -FJ

Are you sure you're not rubbing tire on your upper a-arm? That's common with ball joint spacers and wider tires. Put the front at full droop and check your clearances.

To answer your question, if it IS your CVs doing that then they're bad anyway.

I have the same drivetrain as you.
I installed ball joint spacers and 33"s on the same day. I noticed a vibration and had a front end alignment done... that cured it for me.

Okay, cool, thank you. Have an alignment scheduled...hopefully that takes care of it. Otherwise I'll be chasing down CV's and/or a diff drop setup.

Yea definitely don't have a rub issue, using aftermarket wheels with good backspace. I've got about 2" between A arm and tire at ride height. I've read where the axle angle can cause issues. I'm not sure how old these CV's are. May be originals...might be time to upgrade. Are there higher strength/better design axles out there? Thanks for your help, everyone, BTW

There's better CVs, but you can't afford them . Your best bet is to stay OEM. Check out CVJ Axles for good OEM rebuilds.

The CV shaft itself should handle wheeling with the balljoint spacers just fine as long as you're not locked or heavy on the gas. What won't like the lift is the boots, so I'd consider a manual hub swap so that you aren't spinning those axles all the time and tearing a boot every six months.

I have similar set up too you and manual locks changed the vibration, it was all the time, then with manual locks unlocked in h2 smooth as can be. H4 locked I have wicked vibration over 30 and on the gas. I have new cv axles but the angle is too much. I have a little more lift than you, and have a diff drop coming. I had to order the kit with sway bar spacers too since I drive highway alot and prefer to leave mine intact. I'll let you know if that fixes it. I also had to get new ball joints before I could align mine. That in itself changed alot I didn't realize how bad they were

Okay got the alignment done, it handles much better but now the vibration is only when the hubs are locked, i.e. CV shafts are turning. So I'm thinking that it's the angle of them. So I am going to try a diff drop and see if that helps the situation. Otherwise maybe getting new high angle shafts! Thanks again everyone for chiming in...

Before you go spending a fortune on a diff drop, just go get a 8" x 1/2" grade 8 bolt and about 11 2" wide washers. You can stack the washers on the bolt and install just like a diff drop. Cost is about $11 and works great.

And I was hoping there was a cheap fix for that! Thank you sir. Not about my back window keyswitch not rolling the glass all the way up (and its not the actual switch on the key cylinder OR the integration relay/window relay box) :-/
