FJ 6" lift fits with slight mods...

I called the local off road shop here in Kona HI he said he has already done a 6" lift using an FJ lift w/ slight mods... He said a couple were mechanical which should be easy as I'm putting it in but he said one big one which I am clueless as to due which you guys could help. He said the had to put the RSVC on a toggle to disable it Completely for the lift to not activate all the sensors for stability control... Would anyone have a clue how to do that... If so I could probably venture out and test a 6" from an FJ! Thanks

I think you need a lot more info. Not to mention if you're going to run 35's or more go ahead and plan on 4:56 gears. The cost involved is pretty serious.

The lift kit works with minor modification... It's just the bypass that I would need help on... Hopefully someone on here would know how... And cost would basically be the amount it costs for the lift kit... With a little more for wiring components! Little over $2,000... Depending on kit...

There is Rough Country, Fabtech and Procomp who make them for 07-09 FJ's with Fabtech the only one for 2010+'s and I'm sure they can be made to work on 4Runner with a little work.

Your gain in a 6" lift is to be able to run 35" or bigger tires and you'll want/need to regear to run that big of tire and one thing leads to another and adds up. I'm 99 percent sure you'll have to ditch your entire KDSS to even have a chance of making it work. Talk to one of the 3 companies above if your REALLY interested and blaze the trail to a 4Runner monster truck!

yea ditching the kdss is something i'd hate to do.. maybe they could figure a way around it.. but yea i'll probably talk to them about it.. just curious if anybody else has done it, that is still around to talk to about it.. aka stress on components.. any lengthening of drive-shaft or any of that kind of stuff needed etc. thanks for the informative reply!
