FJ Springs and 5100's Done-Pics!

Quick question/clarification.... you mentioned you had FJ springs on the rear already. Did you also already have the FJ springs on the front? I didn't see any spring prices quoted in your current costs (just the 4 shocks, install labour and alignment cost).

I found all four FJ springs the FJ site for $60 shipped...or about that. I installed the rear coils myself b/c it only took 30 mins. The front were just replaced when I did the Bilstein swap out. So you can add $60 or so to the overall cost. Total being just shy of $700 for an AWESOME, smooth, responsive ride. I couldn't be happier. In the years to come it will be larger tires and maybe more aggressive tread.

Glad to hear how much you enjoy the ride with the new suspension. I'm just now starting my search (locally) for some front FJ springs myself (have rear air suspension) and plan on doing the same leveling lift as Ark_Swamp_Rider did (and I believe you helped with - travel to canada much ) while keeping shock types in mind incase my X-REAS starts leaking prior to doing this.

I will add that 12guns setup rides much better than mine. I thought mine was great till I rode in his with the FJ springs and Bilstein's. I'm more than likely gonna be installing 5100's in the near future (over 140k miles on stock shocks, it's about time) and at the same time going for more lift. I'm VERY impressed with the 5100's, and it made his rig completely different (looks and drives much better, it's a win/win).

Just and FYI. If you find FJ springs and shocks with rather low miles and cheap, go for them if your not ready for the 5100's yet, get 2 spacers and your good. My FJ spring shock and 1/2 spacer combo is a great ride.

+1, I don't mean to discourage the FJ shocks at all. However, it seems most FJ owners think that just because many of us have done the swap, their USED shocks are worth the price of new ones. I've seen many for $300+, and they're just not worth it. If I was getting them for 1/2 what 5100's would cost, most definitely that's what I'd go with.
