FJ wheels on my 4Runner (pics)

Looks really good! I think it would look sweet blackwalled though....... here's a crappy attempt at what it would look like........

Thanks for doing that.... I was wondering which way it would look better.

Actually, I think I like it better with the white letters out. I wanted the white letters in originally, but I think the letters out might look better on a grey 4Runner with tinted windows. It kinda adds a bit "sparkle" or something. I don't know...
 
No problem.... either way it looks great! If I weren't leasing I would probably do the same thing. That 1" in the front really makes a huge difference!

Since you are keeping them white letters out, have them throw in a free oil change instead. Besides, the less times a tire is broken down, the better.

I consider it lucky that they managed to mount and balance all four tires without putting a single scratch on any of them. I'd rather not have them dismount and remount them again anyway. I went back to the dealer today with my 5th FJ wheel and a new Discoverer ATR. I asked the service advisor if he would mount and balance it for free if I decided to keep the other four wheels white letters out. He agreed, so I was a happy camper.
 
By the way, the truck looks great! Whites in or out, it does not matter. The lift does bring the body into better balance. The polished wheels go well with the galactic grey. Are the Coopers 265- 65's or 70's?

Thanks. The tires are 65's....wanted to keep the stock size for many different reasons.

BTW, I still have one spacer lift kit available, and it has your name on it! As you can see, it changes the look quite a bit.
 
Wow, that looks great! And it gives me an idea of what it would look like on mine. I actually like the white letters out more than in, especially since you have a Sport Edition and it's kind of a trademark for the SE's to have the white letters out. :D
 
Looks really nice with the different offset wheels . I am a little partial to blackwalls , just me though, still looks great.

I wonder if those would rub with my 265/70's and the different offset ? I suppose if I ever get my kit in it wouldn't be an issue anyway.

Mine did. Same tires as you, with FJ wheels. It was very minor though. No rubbing after the lift.

It rubbed on the front mudflaps and the splash panel when doing sharp turns.

Hey, post up a pic or two of your 4Runner with the FJ wheels. Have you ever posted pics of them before? If so, I don't remember seeing them.

so how much offset do you think the FJ wheels have? 1"? I'm adding a Cornfed 2/1 next weekend and was looking at wheels spacers to finish the look...but if its gonna rub, I wont get the spacers.

The difference is 15mm (0.6in) between an FJ and a 4R wheel.

Wheel spacers will bring your wheels out far more than the FJ wheels. I believe you'll have to get either 1.25 or 1.5 inch wheel spacers for your 4Runner. That's a bit too far out for my taste.

They also make smaller spacers that allow you widen the stance a bit while still using your original lugs, but these spacesr are usually only 5 - 8 mm and they don't make a big difference visually.
