Flemster's 2000 SR5 Sport

Some small updates.

I recently pulled apart my retrofits for a few reasons. One, they were filthy, filled with dirt and dust, must of had a bad seal or it got all sucked in through the breather. I'm not sure. Two, one of the projectors was loose, tightened it up. All is good. It was my first time melting housings in the oven, but it's super easy! Like honestly everyone says it is easy but...... its really easy. So if you were on the edge about making your own retrofits, that is not the hard part.

I also have still been battling the stupid PO-171 Code. It shows up and goes away all the time. To remedy this I have done the following.
- Cleaned MAF extremely thoroughly
- Cleaned throttle body
- New PCV Valve
- Ran some Gumout through the fuel system
All of this would clear the initial code then after some highway driving it would come back.
Recently I seafoamed though the PCV Vacuum line right into the manifold. Sucked in a entire bottle at idle then shut it off for like an hour. Started it up and holy smoke show. Lots of crap burned out and I was suprised no cop showed up or nobody called 911 tbh. After this, ive done about 500 miles and have yet to have a code. Here is hoping that fixed it.

I know the feeling of having the fire department almost called on me now! haha. So much smoke in my neighborhood, luckily the neighbors came and asked if everything was cool before they called 911. Now I hope this solves that pesky code problem.

Trimming.

Trimming!!!! Prep for 35's and no body lift.
I'm slowly starting the process of making room for the 35's. While I am home for the holidays, I cut up my fenders and flares. Super easy tbh though it was a little nerve wrenching cutting my body.
I used a grinder with a cutoff wheel and then a flap disk to clean it up. Sanded and painted the metal where it was bare with just some clear coat.
Main reason was to stop the siping of my tires when I get throttle happy in the big whoops/heavy bumps.

Took the fender flares off to start. You can use needle nose to not break the clips but it was like 15 degrees out so most of mine broke anyways.

Then I taped off a rough line to cut below the fender clips on both sides.
script>

script>

I trimmed off the whole under side of my fender flares.
script>

script>

Then I chopped the fenders :)

Sanded and painted the bare metal as well as cleaned up the flares. Reinstalled clips/zipties.
Looks completely stock from the side.
script>

Then once you look under.....
SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES.
script>

Also sledged the hell out of my firewall to make a little more room so I wont rub at full bump on my current 285/75r16 setup.

Also Merry Christmas you filthy animals!

In recent news, I blew my passenger side TOYTEC Boss Coilover. It was bound to happen. They have about 60k hard miles on them and finally gave into the constant bashing I do on them. Nothing catastrophic like broken shaft like I've seen. just blew a seal and lost all shock oil and pressure. Gonna have to baby it around being my only vehicle -_- So sadly I won't be driving it much until some replacements show up in February..... won't be toytecs..... Take your guesses.:wink2:

P0171 Update

Done about 800 Miles since I got the light to go away. Still no code. Failed emission due to my exhaust being cut "Broken" off at the muffler so gonna goon up a ghetto adapter to go pass emissions than when I have time weld something nice up after the Magnaflow.

I swear its always something with these things. But wouldn't have it any other way.

Snow wheeeeling

Strange, I just had the exact same thing happen to mine right around the same mileage. It started puking oil, enough to leave a pretty good sized stain where ever I park.

I've got Kings on the way now though! If yours don't show up until February I'll take a guess and say ADS? I'm hoping my Kings show up this week.

Finally got around to this after some motivation from derpiful,
really easy. I did it the cheap way until I can run it over to an exhaust shop to widen the pipe.

Before

Got some exhaust tube roughly the size of the inner diameter of the intake hoses, measured it and cut to the right length.

I then cut the vaccume line nipple off the Intake Silencer, drilled a hole in the new tube and used some epoxy to glue it in.

Let it dry, put it in the way it all came out.
script>

All said and done, really easy. Just forgot to buy a longer vaccum line.
