Flush mounted roof connector

Is anyone using a flush mount connector on the roof of their vehicle for their LED roof lights?

I know most just find a way to snake the wires into their vehicles without drilling any holes. To me that’s not the cleanest way to do it even though it avoids drilling thru the roof. I have seen others poke the wire thru the roof and seal it leaving no way to disconnect the lights for any reason.

I have on the way a 400 watt light bar on order. That should be about 32 amps. I have been looking for a waterproof 2 or 4 pin flush mount socket that can handle 40 amps and have found nothing so far. It should be something like this.

Has anyone else found a product like the picture that will handle that many amps? I have tried military, avionics and boating but none so far go more than 15 amps.

The picture above is $40 from China but does not state the amperage I only used it since it is the closest to what I am looking for.

wuddup Chris, I was thinking about the same thing. I've searched far and wide and came up with nothing so i thought about using a waterproof outlet. I was thinking about rigging up a cigarette lighter socket and make my own inline 40 amp fuse to run it. I then would cut off the plug of my led bar wiring and use a cigarette socket head end plug it into the roof mounted socket.

Phillips doesn't list the amperage rating for this lift gate charging connector but it looks like it might work. Maybe send them an email and see if they will tell you the amperage rating.

Here's the matching plug. It accepts only 4 ga. wire so the setup may well be heavy enough for your application.

I wouldn't try running 32 amps through a cigarette lighter socket - it's likely to go up in smoke.

Look into cannon plugs or something for marine use like this

Waterproof cable glands may be what you need. But they are not plugs, no disconnection option.

Maybe something like this that I could fit the waterproof connectors inside.
